About Answer Checkup

Answer Checkup is a small, independent team building one tool: a way to check whether AI answer engines can find your business and mention it when buyers ask about your category.

What Answer Checkup does

More people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and similar tools which product or service to pick. Answer Checkup shows whether those answers mention you, what gets in the way, and what to fix first.

How the free scan works

When you request a scan, our scanner (ShowsUpInScanner) makes a one-time check of your site. It reads /robots.txt, the page you submitted, /llms.txt and up to 3 of your sitemap URLs. It checks whether the main AI crawlers are allowed, whether you have llms.txt and structured data, and whether your key facts are in the raw HTML that crawlers see. It does not follow links, submit forms, log in or run JavaScript. You get a score and fixes, ranked by priority. More detail, and how to opt out: about our scanner.

What we do not promise

We measure through the engines' APIs. Those approximate the consumer apps but do not match them exactly, and answers change from run to run. Nobody can guarantee that an AI engine will mention your business, and we do not. We show where you stand and what is likely holding you back.
